Scouts in Berwick Nova Scotia

Scouting programs were first introduced in England in the year 1907. It was not until the following year, 1908, that scouting programs were active in North America. The first location of a scouting program in North American was right here in Port Morion, Nova Scotia.

Berwick, Nova Scotia has very active scouting programs. The first to be formed was Beavers, followed by Cubs, Scouts and Ventures. Recently Berwick has also added an active Rover crew. These scouting groups are for youth ages five to twenty-six.

2012 marks 50 years that the scouting group, 2nd Berwick, has been active in the Berwick community. We would like to thank everyone that has been involved in Scouts throughout our fifty active years. We would also like to thanks our sponsor Berwick Lions Club for being a wonderful support system to us for the last fifty years. We are now in the planning stages for the 2011-2012 year. 2nd Berwick Scout group has many exciting events planned for this golden anniversary year; we guarantee it will be a year to remember.
